Nominate your Research Infrastructure for inclusion
in the MERIL database

Begun in 2010 under FP7, the MERIL project now continues with Horizon 2020 funding. Since our inception, we have gathered a strong community of stakeholders whose searches on the portal number more than 1,500 per month. Among these are researchers, research infrastructure managers, funders, and policy-makers – a wide-ranging spectrum of Europe’s research landscape.

Inclusion in the MERIL database helps research infrastructures raise their profile within and beyond Europe – in fact, some of our users hail from as far as Korea and Australia! As a platform, MERIL not only showcases the value of each RI for the research and policy-making community – it also fosters connectivity and collaboration in European research, providing your organisation with the means to partner, network, and exchange information with others.

MERIL helps research infrastructures raise their profile
within Europe and abroad

If your research infrastructure is not on MERIL yet, you can nominate it for inclusion using the portal’s self-assessment form for prospective new entries. Your Infrastructure is eligible if it:

  • Provides services to users outside the country
  • Has clear access rules for external users
  • Has a point of contact

The proposal will be submitted to the relevant National or International Data Intermediaries for advice, and the MERIL team will check its eligibility. Once it is approved, it will be added to the portal and become discoverable to researchers worldwide.
